What Exactly are Resin Bound Driveways?

The perfectly constructed resin driveway consists of an excavated groundwork base, aggregate stones and a minimum 15mm resin layer which will form a permeable and flexible surface that will not crack, unlike other materials. Using UV stable resin, the surface will resist fading and provide safe traction for all forms of household vehicles including vans and small business transport.

Low Maintenance

One of the huge advantages of installing resin driveways is the low level of maintenance which consists of jet-spraying and using a hard brush to remove any leaves or extraneous foliage. We would however recommend that you consider our more expert maintenance programme over a longer period of time, which will give you many more years of use and retain the aesthetic beauty of the driveway. How Long Will my Driveway Last?

If you look after it, there’s no reason why it can’t last anywhere from 15-20 years depending on usage. If you consider Decaro advice to re-resin the surface at a suitable time, you can increase that time frame by many more years in addition.

What About Rain?

Good question! The mixture of resin, aggregate and sand, leaves small voids which allows rainwater to seep through the permeable layers. When frozen, water on the surface is no more dangerous than that of any other surface used for driveways, patios, steps, forecourts etc.

How long does it take to lay a new Resin Driveway?

It depends on a variety of factors such as:

• Size of area

• How much ground preparation is required

• Our workload

Ordinarily, when we have put your job in our work diary, the installation would normally take a  matter of days, not weeks.

Could you Lay Resin over Existing Tarmac or Concrete Surfaces?

Yes, it is possible, but will wholly depend on the quality of the existing area, otherwise, you simply won’t get the desired look, quality or longevity. We want you to get the very best advice when we survey your home, so that’s what you will get. If we think we can use the existing surface, we will say so, but if groundwork is recommended, it’s recommended for a reason.

We can only sign the Decaro name to any guarantees if the conditions allow a perfect union of resin and a stable layer of high- quality materials with a stable environment.  

Do Resin Driveways fade Under Sunlight?

We use only the best UV stable resins which are manufactured to fight the effect of fading through ultra-violet light.

How far do you Travel?

We are based in Cardiff, so we are therefore well-placed to service Cardiff, Newport, Caerphilly, RCT, Brecon, Bridgend, Swansea and pretty much all of South Wales. If you are outside of these areas, it doesn’t mean to say we can’t help you, it will merely mean that we have to be more considerate when it comes to job diaries, timings and lead times.
